The CSCC Special Saloons + Modsports series
the 2012 season
An exciting new era in the history of UK modified car racing dawned with the first
ever round of the CSCC Special Saloons in May 2012. The club using the term in broad terms as it also included modsports / special GTs. Four double-header rounds of 15 minute races making 8 races in total as part of the CSCC package.
Classes were A ( over 6000 cc ) , B ( 2101 to 6000 cc ) , C ( 1501 to 2100 cc ) ,
D ( 1041 to 1500 cc ) , E ( up to 1040 cc ) plus an Invitation class. To equalise performance cars with either a space-frame chassis or sequential gearbox were moved up a class on each respect. 2012 was not a Championship as such but a series of races.

Sep 16/17 - DONINGTON PARK ( 2 races )
No such spoils for the Donington winner Peter Stevens who declined the usual rewards after the gripping 3-car lead battle for the lead ended in disaster when Baby Bertha and Joss Ronchetti`s Sunbeam collided near the end damaging both cars.
The final round ,the following day, was combined with the HVRA V8 series round in light of the lack of cars able to start. That race won by the Cochrane / Fidles Sunbeam Tiger.
