THE CAR :
Tony Paxman`s Escort is always beautifully presented and a full history of this car can be viewed on the link to SBD Motorsport provided. In brief Tony bought a 1300cc Escort in 2007 and had a Pinto 2.3 engine fitted. Plans to enter Classic Hot Rod racing were changed to go circuit racing instead and Paxman , often with co-driver Andy Pike have raced in Classic Touring Cars and Quaife Intermarque. After a rebuild at Connaught engines the Pinto became a 16 valve `Warrior` pushing out 303 bhp and this rapidly evolving car got its ETC Zakspeed Group 2 body style for the 2012 season.
